Imperial Bank Uganda, commonly known as Imperial Bank, is a commercial bank in Uganda. It is one of the twenty-three (23) licensed commercial banks in the country.[1]

The bank is a small-sized retail bank that caters to both individuals and corporate clients. As of February 2011[update], the bank is the country's newest commercial bank, having commenced banking operations on 31 January 2011. The bank's total assets and owner's equity are not publicly known at this time. Imperial Bank Kenya is one of five (5) mid-sized Kenyan banks which have declared their intentions of expanding their operations into the rest of East Africa. The five include:[2]
Imperial Bank Uganda was established in 2011, by two major investors, (a) Mukwano Group, a diversified Ugandan business and manufacturing conglomerate and (b) Imperial Bank Kenya, a medium-sized financial services provider, based in Nairobi, Kenya, having total assets of about US$230 million (KES:19.4 billion), as of June 2010.[3]
